The Roxas-Robredo Platform of Governance: More than a commitment, a concrete plan for Filipino families

“Mga kalaban niya nangangako lang, 
si Mar Roxas nagtatrabaho na”

President Aquino spoke the truth when he made this statement during the Liberal Party (LP) kick-off rally in Capiz last February 9: On the same day, the Roxas-Robredo Platform of Good Governance was launched, a comprehensive policy document with specific sectoral statements for the environment, senior citizens, and indigenous peoples, among others.

The document is pretty much a shortened version of a Medium-Term Development Plan, which incorporates the headways and the areas that need improvement from the Philippine Development Plan 2011-2016 of the Aquino administration with the forthcoming challenges and priorities of the next administration. Needless to say, the Platform is a strong testament of continuity whereby our government will finally have the chance to build on its own successes, as well as learn from its own errors. 

The Platform tags itself as Mar Roxas and Leni Robredo's commitment to the Filipino family; to me, it looks like a concrete plan that is almost ready for take off and adoption by key government agencies, thereby ensuring a smooth transition from this administration to the next.
